FLEXSTEP SPOTLIGHT

Accessibility is important in any building, whether it be a private residence, a workplace or a public building. With this in mind, many buildings offer options to enable access for those with mobility issues.

However, providing easy access to everyone does not mean that you have to compromise on style or design. In fact, at Axess2 we provide a range of designs that not only make your building more accessible, they also enhance it aesthetically.

What is the FlexStep?

The FlexStep is one of our popular platform lifts which has a huge range of benefits. While it works as a disabled access lift, the FlexStep also provides a staircase which collapses to form the platform that carries passengers.

The lift is available with 3-6 steps, making it the ideal option for a range of applications and buildings, both indoors and outdoors.

Let’s take a look at a few of the benefits of the FlexStep.

Design

While the FlexStep provides accessibility and uses innovative technology, it is also a particularly stylish option. The lift is designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing design of a building, using similar colours and materials to look as though it has always been there.

In fact, at first glance, you wouldn’t realise that the FlexStep is a lift at all, making it perfect for a whole range of designs, from traditional and historical public buildings to modern and stylish homes.

Accessibility

First and foremost, a disabled access lift should be able to provide access to those with mobility issues. Not only does the FlexStep do this efficiently and safely, it also means that a wheelchair user, or a person who would struggle with stairs, can access a building the same way everyone else can.

Safety

Of course, it is essential that all lifts be safe to use, particularly those designed to carry passengers with disabilities or mobility issues. The FlexStep is incredibly safe, possessing safety measures such as anti-roll-off and antisqueezing. There are a number of safety sensors, designed to detect dangers and if any of them are activated, the lift will stop immediately and begin to sound an alarm.

Function

One of the great benefits of the FlexStep is its simplicity, not only in assembly but also in operation. The lift can be easily operated by passengers, giving them control over the upward and downward motions. However, all other functions are automated, such as the key safety functions as well as the return to its original form as steps.

The FlexStep is perfect for a range of applications, from public buildings to households. These models have been chosen to be used in a number of prestigious buildings such as the Danish Parliament building at Christiansborg and the European Parliament’s buildings in Brussels.
