New A7 E-motion Pitless Lift

In just six years Axess 2 Limited has become a major force in the UK, supplying and installing a wide range of platform lifts in homes and public and private buildings and a variety bespoke solutions.
In those six exciting years Axess2 has broadened its portfolio to provide a range of products that meet every application while at the same time fulfilling the requirements of all relevant UK and EU regulations.

Now the company, which was formed  by husband and wife team Darren and Natalie Cardwell who between them have nearly 30 years of installation and sales and marketing experience involving passenger lifting , are delighted to introduce the new A7 E-motion pitless lift.

Darren explained that Axess 2 have been on a three year search for this new lift, our clients are demanding ever higher specification products, but do not want the cost or service implications of a passenger lift. The new A7 is the first lift in our range to have lift car sliding doors as on our conventional passenger lifts, but the benefit of coming under the Machinery Directive as a platform lift, therefore the lift travels at 0.15m/s and that is the only difference from a normal elevators.

The A7 re-invents the idea of a conventional platform lift and will be in compliance with the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
This means gone are the hold to run buttons and the standard ‘L’ shaped platform running In a manufactured built shaft, we can now supply the lift car and doors into a pre built shaft which reduces the cost to the end user. People travelling in the A7 lift will not know that it is a disabled platform lift as it looks and operates like a normal everyday passenger lift.

The drive system for operation is the first of its kind for this type of application, we are using a traction system with counterweight with our geared drive motor, speed controlled with an electronic invertor, that is incorporated in the lift shaft, so no need for a machine room.

Axess 2 has installed hundreds of disabled platform lifts in retail outlets, local government buildings, leisure centres, commercial offices, libraries and private homes over the past six years. The company has a staff of 22 people plus a team of 12 engineers, and is also applying for accreditation for both ISO 9001.2001 and the Lift Regulations. In 2007 the company moved into purpose built brand new premises with full showroom and storage facilities at Link 59 Business Park at Clitheroe in Lancashire.
