HALTON COMMUNITY CENTRE

AXESS 2 INSTALLS LIFT IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER AT HALTON.

THE CENTRE AT HALTON IS CELEBRATING THE AWARD OF MORE THAN £19,000 FROM THE RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR ENGLAND TO FUND THE INSTALLATION OF A MUCH NEEDED LIFT IN ITS EXPANDED BUILDING.

Over the last two years, there has been a very successful fundraising campaign to extend and refurbish the Centre and to build hugely popular outdoor facilities – a skate park and excellent children’s play areas.

Among the major funders for these developments have been the Lancashire Environment Fund, the National Lottery and Lancashire County Council.

The platform lift is the last major project to have been developed and will allow easy access to the much used coffee shop and the two upstairs committee and function rooms. This will be much appreciated by mobility aided and pushchair users and more mature visitors, now allowing the Centre to plan functions for a more diverse range of people.

The lift has been installed by Axess 2 as the main contractor, and with support from Piningtons who have been the major contractor for the earlier building refurbishments.
