DESIGNING YOUR ELEVATOR: WHAT YOU NEED TO CONSIDER

If you’re designing a new building, or renovating an already existing one, then you don’t want to be caught out by not including an elevator in your plans. Adding an alternative way to get between floors will make access easier, as well as become a great design aspect for you to unleash your creative flair.

Once your plans are in place to incorporate access lifts into your building, then there are lots of aspects for you to really put your architectural stamp on. Here are some of the different areas of your new elevator that you’re able to design.

Doors

First things first, you need to decide how you want an elevator to sit in a room. You could opt for a glass lift that adds functionality and style to a home or business. Because of their transparency, they complement a space instead of making it feel crowded, so are a particularly great option for smaller areas. Once people are inside, they can enjoy the scenic views around them!

But if you’d prefer a metal exterior, then you could always add a bit of flair on the inside.

Or better yet, you could collaborate with a company like Axess 2. Our bespoke service allows for your input throughout the process, including how the doors look.

Panels

Once inside, you want customers and staff to feel comfortable. One of the best ways of doing this is by making the interior look great.

Think about adding pops of colour from the company’s logo, or choose a marble-style finish for a real luxury feel. Don’t forget about how you want the buttons to look either!

Flooring

People often look at the ground when in an elevator to avoid awkward eye-contact, so make sure they have something spectacular to look at! You can choose from an array of colours and materials, so there’s no excuse to not make your lift look perfect.

You can choose from marmoleum, linoleum, PVC or rubber, so think about the practical purpose of the lift as well as the aesthetics when it comes to flooring.

If you’d like a hand designing the perfect elevator for your project, Axess 2 is one of the very few UK lift specialists to offer a truly bespoke service with all the certifications and Building Regulation requirements.
